A Colorful World :)

Just take a look at the pictures above and below, are you attracted by the remarkable special effect of these two pictures?

There are a special skill if you want to take picture as the above one; that is, to use a "color filter trip." Color filters are the staple tool of stage and screen light technicians, they can also play some nice tricks when combined with your Holga.
Sometimes use the simplest of mods can achieve the most astounding and moving results.


By covering the lens with the colored filters and then I adjust the exposure times according to the material in front of the lens or just use higher speed film, the outcome appear to be the picture you see above!


Each colour adds a certain mood to the pics, from cold frosty blue to warm lovely red. The most interesting point is that there is no way to find out which ones works other than to try it out with film.


I read from some other amateur photographers' study that dark filters are nice when you shoot against the sun. Some dark filters tend to boost certain colors by filtering out all the other colors. The dark purple ones particularly do this and reds come out very strongly.The extended exposure demand is also perfect for double or multi exposures e.g. change the color for the second shot.


Those are really helpful tips for me. Once I try it, I might find extra fun.A cool effect is created when the colored filter does not fit perfectly across the lens. Anyway, I can't wait to give it a try!
